Update

Hey Sistahs,

I can not let this busy month go forward without letting you all know what has been happening for me. I have to admit that I had been in this small funk for the last few months - nothing that was slowing me down but it was a cause for much contemplation. When I announced that this month was Afrikan Wombyn's Liberation Month little did I know that it would be more about my own liberation than others. For the last few months I have been looking at my works - things I have been doing and asking if it was contributing to my visions, my dreams and actualization of a liberated life. YES and NO...

I LUV my creativity. I feel very blessed to be so creative AND recently it has become very important to me to plant my seeds in fertile ground. I witness all too often people placing their energies out there with very little return to their personal coffers. I especially see this in Sistahs- We Give A Lot!

My Sistah Assata visited me a couple of weeks ago AND it was a breath of fresh air. She gave me a lot to think about AND we had some real truth telling sessions about our lives and the lives of Sistahs. I LUV connecting with my Sistahs - I have met some powerful and fabulous Wombyn while working on Wombyn Studies and writing this blog - now I am ready to move onward. I realize that I have some personal goals that I want to actualize and now is the time for me. I also realize that I can't just disperse my energies outward without a focus. This month I realized I was growing physically tired -not just from my online projects but my work schedule. As a result, I have decided to take a sabbatical. I am going to spend some time in meditation and make a plan for myself. I have decided to explore more of who I AM and move towards electrifying my life into unlimited possibilities!!

The Mother has been telling me that NOW is the time! She has been showing me more and more that I must ACTUALIZE my LIFE and go towards places that feed my joy, thirst and excitement for life. I am proud of what I have been a part of and don't think I am leaving anything behind instead I am working on my transition towards being a GLOBAL WOMBYN. I am now unraveling all of the rest of the little boxes have created for myself so that I take deeper breaths and expand beyond 'old stories' of self.

I am very excited about this journey. I am VERY READY!

Afrikan Wombyn's Liberation Month

Sistahs,
I have declared March as Afrikan Wombyn's Liberation Month! As the ruler of my own universe I thought this was a timely thing to do as March 8th is International Women's Day - a global holiday that honors Women.

March is going to be about the Victories of Afrikan Women. I LUV, LUV, LUV the stories of my Sistahs! I am amazed by the everyday powerfulness of the Dark Goddesses that I know...I thought it was time for a celebration our works!

I am currently looking for video, film shorts, written works, music, art and more that uplifts and tells the powerful story of women of Afrikan descent. The work will be featured on web page and on our NEW ONLINE TV STATION called SHE Network - http://www.livestream.com/shetv

A New World Order...

My Sis India, posted the quote above on facebook and it instantly resonated with me. For the last couple of weeks I was glued to my internet news as I watched things unfold in Egypt. While others watched Super Bowl, I found myself enthralled with the thought that a group of people somewhere on the planet had decided that they had enough with oppression. It was interesting to see how many where caught off guard by the sudden swell of a movement that demanded change.

The scenario of the Egyptian people plays itself out on so many levels in our own lives. An Egyptian woman with a 19yr old son said she blamed her generation on the current situation in Egypt. She felt that they accepted oppression in return for a false stability. Life can be like that - we accept a concession -something less than what we deserve because the appearance is that the boat will not get rocked. We allow suppression of our soul's desires to continue traditions that have only served to stifle our spirits and keep the lie running the foundation of our lives.

Personally, I can't find any incentive for living a life that is limited. I find deep joy when someone breaks the barriers of their own reality to finds LIFE. I constantly unfold my own life to remove self imposed limitations and I cleanse my environment of oppressive relationships so I can make room for respectful and expansive opportunities for deep connection. I have undergone my own quest for 'regime change' within - I no longer debate or try to justify my actions to live as a FREE Wombyn - I simply feel it is a waste of time. I take dominion of my life in this now!

"I feel like I am coming back to life. After so many years I feel that I am alive again...", Egyptian man said while celebrating the revolution.

Sistahs, I support your happiness! You deserve to live the life you want to live. You ARE BEAUTIFUL AND POWERFUL JUST AS YOU ARE! You are WORTHY. Awareness of this truth compels the entire universe to make it so! AND SO IT IS!

Complete & Total LOVE

A couple of weeks ago on Wombyn Studies we had a guest teacher named Kelarius Finex bring us through an activation of the Divine Feminine Principle within our bodies. The process was powerful and beyond what many of us could imagine. Kelarius encouraged us to continue to practice the opening of our hearts in order to activate the Divine Feminine within AND reap the rewards of our Divine Prosperity. Sense that time I personally feel myself 'breaking through' - there are moments were my heart logic takes over and I can't even comprehend living in heavy discord with my Divine Being.

Love is a choice. Often it is a choice that many of us leave for others to express first. So many of us are closed down - closed in - that we believe intellectual efforts are going to elevate us to Spiritual Oneness with the Divine. What confusion many of us are in- we want freedom yet don't begin with the heart. We don't begin with SELF.

I find myself bored literally with those who want to rewind, replay over and over again the story of the suffering without ever looking at their closed hearts as an obstacle to healing. Some people suffer so much that they poison others with their hurt and call it science, nationalism, nation building, culture, religion and I dare say Divine...

I see the beauty of a world where many of us are willing to open our hearts and heal what is there for the sake of the children - of future generations. We gently peck away at the shell of experience so we can invite more experience in - WE ARE UNAFRAID to be who we need to be during this time AND we ARE COURAGEOUS. The ole world says love is foolish and takes advantage of those who work from their hearts but as another wise friend of mine said to me recently, "...they can not stop this time. We have already begin to move forward..."

Today, I feel the shift within myself to express to everyone that there is no better time than now to BE THE ONE - TO BE BIGGER than the situation- TO OUTLOVE THE HARDNESS AND PAIN...I wrote on my facebook page today:

I am an ADVOCATE for YOUR HAPPINESS! You deserve to smile each moment of the day and to be in places where you want to be and those who resonate with your vibration. I BELIEVE IN YOU! Your soooo beautiful, you are a WALKING SHRINE, blessing us with your presence! I thank the Mother for birthing you and I am honored to share this time with you. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO!!

Happiness - Our Divine BirthRite!

I feel full lately because I am in absolute BLISS with my life. I feel as if now -more than ever is A BEAUTIFUL TIME TO BE A WOMBYN!! So much is happening in women's circles. We are opening up to the fact that our lives are divine and beautiful and worth respect.

No matter what you do in this world you energy is keeping this world running. Women tend to be that person holding it all together - making it all seem 'seamless' and flowing. We are a highly organizational breed of being! I find often that I have several dimensions to my life. I am not just a worker, I am not just a mother, I am not just a blogger - I wear several hats in my identity and I am always trying to give birth to another.

This theme of birthing oneself is in a lot of ancient matrilineal art. A woman in birthing position giving birth to another self. This not just some "cool" art or a past dead ceremonial rite - THIS IS US!

A friend of mine said the other day, "How do I know who I AM?" "How do I know this role I have for myself is who I am?" These questions are deeply profound for a wombyn because she may find the answer has been hidden from her for the convenience of others.

Whether you are a Wombyn or man these times are asking you to ask the most important question of yourself - "Am I happy?" If not, do you deserve happiness? If your not happy yet, what will complete the feeling?

Let's keep moving forward.

As I Progress

Hey Sistahs,

Life is good and really getting busy. I have been working on a few phenominal projects that are taking a lot of my free time but in a really good way!! Wombyn Studies continues to grow- we now offer FREE online classes now and the momentum of those classes is really taking off. Today, Marilyn Fontaine lead us in a beautiful exercise of gratitude in the workshop I AM THANKFUL. If you have time to join us - check it out- it is a fun time to connect with other like minded folks. All of it is completely online.

So, I want to announce another creation of mine - it is a compliment to Wombyn Studies and SistahGoddess. I have created my own TV station and it is called SHE NETWORK. I am very EXCITED because it will put together the work of a lot of Sistahs from around the world! I am still learning how to do everything but I did get up some initial content. I really want to thank my Sistahs who opened up their creative work to the SHE NETWORK- Soraya Jean Louis-McElroy, Sa-Roc, Simphewe Dana and Olowokande-Ame'ye India. I like having Sistahs around who just instantly support projects - it is just a good vibe!! I of course, did not get a chance to get to everyone I know AND that is what is beautiful - so many of us are doing phenomenal work!!!

I got today, that a large part of my purpose is bring Sistahs together - finding ways for us to grow closer, share our wisdom and feel nurtured in the essence of who we are -which is powerful!! I hope to hear from folks if they have content that fits our new SHE NETWORK. Short films, video, etc...

Join Me In My FIRST ONLINE Class!

Hey Sistahs,

I was speaking with a friend the other day and she was witnessing the work I am doing with Wombyn Studies but wondering why I have not done a class of my own. I did have to look clearly at myself and see why I was in a holding pattern on offering my own class.

With a little more observation I finally realized that I need to give myself that final push. I needed that moment where it feels as if you are about to walk off the side of a 20 story building only to realize you have stepped off of the curb. I forever dance with the notion of being perfect when perfection does not exists in the way we see it. WE ARE PERFECT - the bumps, the curves, the blemishes add to our signature of self yet if we are aware of it we sometimes can catch ourselves comparing the truth of who we are to someone else...it is a deep process to catch yourself in illusion.

I sat down over the weekend and decided I was going to complete my e-book I started a few months ago AND I was going to offer a class! So, here I am launching my first course called RETURN TO SELF: A Juice Feasting Journey.

This class will be my 'tell all' about juice fasting. I have fasted regularly for over 16 years. During those years I have learned a lot about how to juice fast and KEEP your life in balance. Many people saw the results of my last juice feast when after 30 days I lost a solid 15 pounds. I was asked over and over again to share my secret for staying on a fast for so long without being depleted or getting sick. I actually worked and did yoga while on this 30 day juice feast! So, know that juice feasting about staying IN your life WHILE detoxing. YES, you can feel good, detox and feast on unlimited juice to ACHIEVE YOUR HEALTH GOALS!!!

The beauty of this first class is that it will be online. I will utilize the Wombyn Studies video chat room for our 'lectures/gatherings/talks'. A preparation course will be offered so that participants know what to buy in terms of food, kitchen equipment and ordinary household items. I will also give low-budget alternatives for those of us who are cash strapped. You CAN do this juice feast on a limited budget!

Hey Sistahs!!

I am a mother, artist, singer, dancer, healer, alchemist, scientist, teacher, creatrix, performer, ritualist, student of life and culture keeper. Proud daughter of the Southeast with a strong Caribbean American upbringing.
