Day 29 of 40 Days of Making Pillows!!

Hey Sistahs,
I did what I said I was going to do this full moon - CREATE! I stopped staring at the pile of pillows in the corner of my living room and decided to break out the sewing machine and get to it!

Here are my step by step instructions! I hope you like it! Don't forget that tomorrow we pick the winner for the Going Natural Almond Shampoo! Just answer the question on the post and be a subscriber to SistahGoddess blogspot. More exciting Give-A-Ways are coming! Thanks for your support!

Pillow Talk!

Ok, first select a pillow to cover. I got this one from a thrift store for .75cents! Measure the pillow and add 1/2 inch to each side.

Next...Select a piece of fabric...

Iron your fabric...this will make it easier to measure and cut...

Measure your fabric...I mark mine with a white fabric pencil. A better way is have a self healing cutting board- which I don't have at the moment...Remember to add that 1/2 inch to each side!

Once you cut the fabric match the right sides of the fabric facing each other. Your two wrong sides should be on the outside...

Pin all of the sides with straight pins. One side should be pinned with a gap in the middle for stuffing your pillow later...Sew up the sides with a 1/2 inch allowance.

Once the sides are sewn, then you will turn the fabric inside out...

Now stuff the pillow through the hole (you may have to STUFF IT!! LOL!!)

Lastly, you will need to slip stitch the remaining fabric...I didn't show this but you can google that process... or you can add some buttons if you want to wash the cover at a later date...WA LAH!! You are done!

I like covering my own pillows because its cheaper and more creative than buying them at the store! I don't really sew - trust this is easy to do!

29 Days of 40 Days of Self Care and Creativity
Sistahs, I am feeling so grateful today. I have a lot in my life to be thankful of...a home for my son and I...good food to eat...a peaceful place to sleep...a space to do my art and a beautiful group of like-minded souls that I have met through this blog...I feel very rich, very abundant...

Affirmation 29

29. When I am aware of the Mother/Father/Goddess/God Self within me as my total fulfillment, I am totally fulfilled. I am now aware of this Truth. I have found the secret of life, and I relax in the knowledge that the Activity of Divine Abundance is eternally operating in my life. I simply have to be aware of the flow, the radiation, of that Creative Energy, which is continuously, easily and effortlessly pouring forth from my Divine Consciousness. I am now aware. I am now in the flow.

Big Hugs,
Sis. Camara

love your beautiful pillows. I don't have a sewing machine and know that I might be able to do this by hand...lofty task-lol. I was talking to my sister a couple of weeks ago about making some pillows or a quilt. Thanks for the inspiration and the guide!
